Large-Sized Redware Figure of a Seated Dog, PA origin, circa 1850-1885, hand-modeled figure of a dog seated on a slab base, embellished with heavily-incised fur, impressed and incised details to face, and incised paws. Dog's collar features impressed ellipses and an applied circular clay locket with impressed and incised decoration. Surface covered in a clear lead glaze. Desirable size. An approximately 2" x 1" restored wedge on front of base, which includes restoration to one of dog's front feet and ankle and restoration to toes of other front foot. H 6" ; L (of base) 6 3/8".
