Three-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Bird-on-Flower Decoration, Ballardvale, MA origin, circa 1885, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a crested bird perched on a stylized flower with scrolled stem. A 1 1/4" surface crack from rim on side of crock. A short line and small chip to handle below. A chip and minor nick to opposite handle. Several short lines at base, not visible on interior. Minor staining. A nick and minor wear to interior of rim. H 10 3/8".
