Rare Early-Period Redware Cake Mold, Stamped "J. BELL," Waynesboro, PA, circa 1840, large-sized cake mold with spiraled patterned and galleried rim, the surface covered in a lead-and-manganese glaze. Underside impressed with debossed "J. BELL" maker's mark. A few rim chips. A thin, approximately 2 1/2" crack from rim. A small in-the-firing lime ping to midsection on exterior. Minor wear to tip of central tube. Typical in-the-firing contact marks to underside. Diam. 11 1/8" ; H 5".
