Two Pieces of Cobalt-Stenciled Stoneware, Stamped "F.H. COWDEN / HARRISBURG," PA origin, circa 1885, a one-gallon cylindrical crock with intricate square-shaped stenciling, paired with a five-gallon ovoid jar with abstract stenciled design. One-gallon crock with two tiny nicks to one handle, a flake and small U-shaped line at base on front, some staining, and some wear to cobalt. Five-gallon jar with a 7" inverted Y-shaped crack from rim on reverse, some light exfoliation to reverse, minor traces of old orange paint to surface, a few chips to exterior of rim, and wear to interior of rim. H (of larger) 14 1/2".
