Two Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jars, Cowden & Wilcox, Harrisburg, PA, circa 1865, both of cylindrical, handled form, a one-gallon jar with brushed floral design featuring blossoms composed of graduated strokes, paired with a two-gallon jar with large brushed tulip motif. Both impressed with different Cowden & Wilcox maker's marks. One-gallon jar with crack in underside extending to shoulder on front, a small glazed-over rim chip, and chips to inner rim for lid. Two-gallon jar with several rim chips and small chips and wear to inner rim for lid. H (of one-gallon jar) 9 3/8".
