Two One-and-a-Half-Gallon Stoneware Jars with Cobalt Floral Decorations, Stamped "COWDEN & WILCOX / HARRISBURG, [PA]," circa 1865, both of ovoid form with tooled shoulders and flattened rims, featuring different brushed floral motifs. Cobalt highlights to maker's marks and capacity marks. Taller jar with fry to cobalt, some staining, and a small base chip. Shorter jar with small rim chips, staining to surface, and a thin crack across underside, continuing onto base in three places. H (of taller) 9".
