Two Stoneware Jars with Cobalt Floral Decorations, Stamped "COWDEN & WILCOX / HARRISBURG, PA," circa 1865, a one-gallon semi-ovoid jar with flared rim and one-and-a-half-gallon ovoid jar, each brush-decorated with a flower with loop around stem. Larger with rare error stamp, reading "HARRISRURG." Cobalt highlights to maker's marks. Larger jar with a 6 1/4" Y-shaped surface line on side, not visible 0n interior, a 1 3/4" rim chip, and staining to surface. Other jar small chips to interior of rim and inner rim for lid, minor nicks to shoulder molding, and traces of old red paint to surface. H (of larger jar) 9".
