Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Holy Water Bowl, probably Westerwald, Germany, 19th century, with rounded sides and flared rim, the interior featuring the initials "IHS" with cross, a monogram for an abbreviation for the name of Jesus, widely-used in the Christian church. A 1 3/8" rim chip with a 2 7/8" hairline descending from it. An in-the-firing ping to interior. H 2 3/8" ; Diam. 8 1/4".
