Glazed Stoneware Face Jug, Signed "Whelchel Meaders / Mossy Creek Pottery," GA origin, 21st century, wheel-thrown jug with hand-modeled and applied clay face including unglazed eyes with pierced and black-glazed pupils, ear raised eyebrows with incised details, nose with pierced nostrils, and open mouth with cut and applied clay teeth. Mottled brown glaze to surface. Underside with incised Whelchel Meaders signature and "Mossy Creek Pottery" inscription. Provenance: Carl and Marian Mullis Collection; On long-term loan to Colonial Williamsburg, 2019 to 2023. Excellent, essentially as-made condition. H 8 3/4".
