Fine Half-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Slip-Trailed Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "B.C. MILBURN / ALEXA," VA origin, circa 1850, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder and semi-rounded rim, decorated completely around the shoulder with a slip-trailed wavy line with five large bell flowers descending from it. Desirable size and strong decoration. Provenance: From a recently-surfaced Virginia collection. Very nice condition with several small base chips, two of which are in-the-firing, and an in-the-firing recessed spot at base. H 8".
