One-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "B.C. MILBURN," Alexandria, VA origin, circa 1860, ovoid jar with curved tab handles and semi-squared rim, brush-decorated on the front with a flowering plant featuring a circular blossom with leaves emanating from it to the left and right. Reverse decorated with two horizontal floral motifs featuring a circular blossom and tulip. Impressed under one handle with B.C. Milburn maker's mark. Provenance: From a recently-surfaced Virginia collection. Losses to one handle. A chip to underside at edge. H 9 1/4".
