One-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Pitcher, Stamped "W.H. LEHEW & CO. / STRASBURG, VA," circa 1870, ovoid pitcher with tall, flaring collar, brush-decorated around the midsection with four groups of graduated swags emanating from forked wavy stems. This design is repeated on the sides of the collar. Cobalt dashes to front and spout and handle terminals. Excellent, essentially as-made condition with a 5/8" in-the-firing chip to bottom edge and a tiny in-the-firing ping to spout. H 10 3/4".
