Two-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jug with Utica, NY Advertising, attributed to the White's Pottery, Utica, NY, circa 1885, squat-shaped jug with tall spout, featuring the stenciled cobalt advertising, "JOHN H. LALOR / WHOLE SALE / LIQUOR DEALER. / 27 To 31 / CHARLOTTE ST. UTCIA(sic). / N.Y." Dipped cobalt slip to spout and large section of handle. Small spout chips. Chips to molding at base of spout.Wear to top of handle. Light surface wear around midsection. Some light staining. H H 13 1/2".
