Rare Molded Filtering Water Cooler, Marked "NEW / EMPIRE FILTER," attributed to the White's Pottery, Utica, NY, late 19th century, ovoid cooler, embossed "NEW / EMPIRE FILTER," with separate filtering tip decorated with relief grapevine motifs including a butterfly and dragonfly on one side and a butterfly on the reverse. Includes original domed lid with relief leaf motif. Cobalt highlights throughout over a Bristol slip ground. A 4" line and 3" line from rim on interior of filter, partially visible on exterior. A 4" spider line on interior base and a 2" line on exterior base. A 1" chip to edge of lid and a small chip to flange on underside of lid. H 20 1/2".
