Stoneware Cake Crock with Cobalt Floral Decoration, attributed to Henry Harrison Remmey, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1830, low-walled, cylindrical form with footed base, heavily-tooled shoulder, squared rim, and applied lug handles, brush-decorated on the front and reverse with a leafy garland bearing three hanging, tassel-shaped blossoms. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals and flowering garland motif below each handle. Excellent condition with some wear to cobalt. Crock is somewhat out-of-round. H 6 3/8" ; Diam. 11 1/2".
