Scarce Stoneware Lid with Cobalt Star Decoration, Baltimore, MD origin, second quarter 19th century, decorated with wavy curvilinear brushwork forming a stylized eight-pointed star and a cobalt band around the outer edge. Four chips to flange on underside. A small, glazed-over flake to knob. Diam. 12 1/2".
