One-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Baltimore, MD, circa 1825, ovoid jar with footed base, semi-rounded rim, and arched tab handles, brush-decorated on the front and reverse with a curving stem bearing leaves and stylized flower blossoms. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Excellent, essentially as-made condition with a crescent-shaped in-the-firing contact mark to shoulder and a small piece of adhered clay to shoulder, H 10".
