One-Gallon Stoneware Churn with Cobalt Clover Decoration, Baltimore, MD origin, circa 1875, cylindrical form with flaring collar and arched tab handles, brush-decorated with a two-stemmed clover plant on the front and reverse. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals along with a curving line of cobalt beneath each handle. Two narrow 1 3/4" in-the-firing contact marks to rim. A small chip to exterior of rim. Minor chips to inner rim for lid. H 11 3/4".
