One-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Pitcher, Western PA or WV origin, circa 1865, ovoid pitcher with incised banding to body, heavily-tooled rim molding, and stepped molding at base of collar, brush-decorated around the body and on the collar with swag motifs. Cobalt highlight to rim molding, base of collar, and handle terminals. Provenance: From a fifty-year West Virginia collection. Excellent, essentially as-made condition. H 10 3/8".
