Small-Sized Stoneware Canning Jar with Cobalt Stripe Decoration, Palatine, WV origin, circa 1880, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder and semi-rounded "wax sealer" rim, brush-decorated with four wavy stripes below a straight stripe. Includes old tin lid. Provenance: From a fifty-year West Virginia collection. A 1 7/8" crack from rim on side of jar. A 3/4" line from rim on opposing side of jar. Two chips to interior of rim. Two chips to inner wax sealer rim. Several short, faint lines to underside near edge. Some light staining. H 6 1/2".
