Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Stripe Decoration, Western PA origin, circa 1875, semi-ovoid jar with tooled shoulder and semi-rounded rim, brush-decorated with five stripes. A 1/2" partially glazed-over base chip. A 1 1/4" in-the-firing fissure at base on reverse, continuing 1/2" onto underside. Some in-the-firing roughness to top of rim. A few minuscule nicks to shoulder molding. H 8".
