Very Rare Small-Sized Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Stripe Decoration and Inverted Maker's Stenciling, Stenciled "Hamilton / & Jones," Greensboro, PA, circa 1870, semi-ovoid jar with tooled shoulder and semi-rounded rim, stenciled with the inverted maker's mark, "Hamilton / & Jones," between a series of four freehand stripes. Highly unusual error stenciling, excellent size, and desirable stripe decoration. A 1/2" chip to interior of rim. Some light in-the-making surface wear. H 7 3/4".
