One-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "COWDEN & WILCOX / HARRISBURG .PA," circa 1865, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder, semi-squared rim, and applied lug handles, brush-decorated with a flowering plant bearing a tulip and spot-accented blossom. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Excellent condition with a chip and minuscule nick to rim, traces of old blue paint to surface, and an out-of-round rim. H 9 3/4".
