Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "COWDEN & WILCOX / HARRISBURG, PA," circa 1865, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder, flared rim, and applied lug handles, brush-decorated with two-stemmed daisy plant embellished with dashes between the stems. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark, capacity mark, and handle terminals. Some wear to cobalt. A 7/8" in-the-firing lime ping to shoulder on reverse. Inner rim for lid with a 5/8" flake and two minor nicks. A minor nick to one handle. H 10 3/4".
