Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "COWDEN & WILCOX. / HARRISBURG .PA," circa 1865, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder, applied lug handles, and semi-rounded rim, brush-decorated with a floral motif featuring two tulips flanking a leafy stem. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark, capacity mark, and handle terminals. A glazed-over lime ping to front. A rim chip on reverse. Staining to surface. H 11 1/2".
