Two-Gallon Stoneware Bowl with Cobalt Wreath Decoration, Stamped "COWDEN & WILCOX / HARRISBURG, PA," circa 1865, wide, low form with rounded sides, tooled shoulder, flattened rim, and applied lug handles, brush-decorated with a wreath on the front. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark, capacity mark, and handle terminals. Four small chips to exterior of rim. A small chip to interior of rim. A top-to-bottom crack from rim on reverse. Some surface staining. H 6 1/4" ; Diam. 12".
