Salt-Glazed Stoneware Jar with Lid, Stamped "H.H. ZIGLER / NEWVILLE PA," circa 1852-1865, semi-ovoid jar with flared rim, impressed with H.H. Zigler maker's mark at shoulder. Salt-glazed exterior and Albany-slip-glazed interior. Includes original salt-glazed lid. A small base chip. Two short, faint lines to underside. A minor lime ping to top of rim. A 1" chip to lid. Two minor in-the-firing contact marks to edge of lid. H (excluding lid) 10 3/4".
