Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "WM. MOYER. / HARRISBURG .PA," circa 1858-1861, ovoid jug with semi-rounded spout, brush-decorated with a two-stemmed tulip plant. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark, capacity mark, and handle terminals. Base with a shallow chip and minor exfoliation. A small amount of in-the-firing clay residue to shoulder. A 3/4" in-the-making scratch to clay on side of jug near base. A slight lean to spout. Surface with some light staining, some residue from use, and very minor surface wear. H 14 3/8".
