Rare Two-Gallon Slip-Decorated Redware Jar, Whitewater, WI origin, second half 19th century, semi-ovoid jar with rounded, tooled shoulder and semi- squared rim, brushed decorated with a large foliate motif flanking a freehand number "2." Lead-glazed surface with light-orange ground. Rim chips. Some surface exfoliation. An in-the-firing contact mark below "2." Heavy exfoliation to underside. A 4" scratch extending from base on side of jar. Base chips. Exfoliation to interior base. H 11".
