Rare Large-Sized Stoneware Figure of a Seated Dog, probably OH origin, late 19th century, hand-modeled in the Pennsylvania redware style with heavily incised fur and incised details to face and paws, the surface decorated with brushed Albany slip highlights over cream-colored clay and covered in a clear glaze. Possibly made by a Pennsylvania-German potter who traveled west. Exceptional size. Professionally restored tail. Otherwise excellent condition. H 7 3/4" ; L 7".
