Two-Gallon Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware Jug, Stamped "SLH," Sylvanus Hartsoe, Lincoln County, NC, fourth quarter 19th century, ovoid jug with wide, tooled mouth, the surface covered in a mottled black-to-brown mix of alkaline glaze and Albany slip. Traces of rutile to shoulder, spout, and handle. A 7/8" spout chip. A 5/8" handle chip. H 14".
