Four-Gallon Double-Handled Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Decoration, Stenciled "T.F. REPPERT. / GREENSBORO.PA.," circa 1880, ovoid jug with two applied handles at the shoulder and incised accents to spout area, featuring T.F. Reppert maker's stenciling surrounding stenciled scrollwork. Decorated above with a freehand "4" flanked by flourishes, between two wavy stripes. A wavy stripe at base. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Stained crazing throughout much of jug's upper half. Salt drips to shoulder. An approximately 5" long faint hairline on underside. Two minor spout chips. H 17".
