Rare Albany-Slip-Glazed Stoneware Presentation Dog Doorstop, Inscribed "C.W. Miller, 1894" and "W,E,A," William E. Arblaster, New Bethlehem, Clarion County, PA, 1894, molded figure of a spaniel with incised details to face and paws, seated on a circular base with chip-carved edge. Surface covered in a mottled-brown Albany slip glaze and incised across the base with the name and date, "C.W. Miller," presumably the doorstop's owner, followed by the date, "1894." Underside incised with the initials, "W,E,A," for potter, William E. Arblaster. Excellent, essentially as-made condition with very minor edge wear to base. H 10".
