Rare Large-Sized Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Canning Jar with Flowering Plant Motif, Western PA origin, circa 1875, tapering jar with tooled shoulder and semi-rounded "wax sealer" rim, brush-decorated with a three-stemmed flowering plant bearing two buds. Freehand straight and wavy stripe decoration to shoulder. A 1 7/8" chip to inner wax sealer rim. Two minor chips to interior of rim. An in-the-firing ping at base on front. H 11 3/4".
