Two-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Ballardvale, MA origin, circa 1880, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a crested bird perched on a tree branch. A thin 4 1/4" crack from rim on reverse. Some surface staining. A 1 1/4" in-the-firing base chip. H 9 3/8".
