Two-Gallon Stoneware Bowl with Cobalt Bull's Eye Decoration, Stamped "HOLMES & PURDY / DUNDEE N Y," second quarter 19th century, with rounded sides, tooled shoulder, and applied lug handles, brush-decorated with an unusual spotted bull's eye motif. Brushed cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. A 4" crack from rim on front. A small rim chip to reverse, a small chip to interior of rim, and two minor rim nicks. A 1 3/4" flaked section to one handle. H 6 1/2 " ; Diam. 12 1/8".
