Unusual Two-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar with Stenciled Plant Motif, probably WV origin, circa 1880, cylindrical jar with rounded shoulder and semi-squared rim, decorated with a large stenciled design of a plant capped by a circular flower bud. Freehand 2 underscored by four stripes on reverse. Impressed "2" on reverse. In-the-firing bloated spots to surface. Otherwise excellent condition. H 12".
