Three-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "COWDEN & WILCOX / HARRISBURG. PA," circa 1865, semi-ovoid jug with semi-rounded spout, brush-decorated with a stem bearing two large leaves and blossom composed of graduated spots. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark, capacity mark, and handle terminals. A 3 3/4" hairline on underside extending 5 1/4" up left side of jug. Otherwise excellent condition. H 15".
