Three Pieces of Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware, Manhattan, NY origin, 18th or early 19th century, a rare half-gallon ovoid jug with footed base and tooled spout, decorated with a series of slip-trailed vertical lines at the shoulder and slip-trailed line decoration to the handle terminals, probably Adam States, Sr., Manhattan, NY, mid 18th century; a two-gallon ovoid jug with heavily-tooled spout, stylized foliate brushwork at the shoulder, and heavy highlights to the handle terminals, Manhattan, NY origin, circa 1790-1800; and a three-gallon ovoid jar with open loop handles and brushed spotted drape decoration on the front and reverse, Manhattan, NY origin, circa 1800. Smaller jug with heavy chipping to base, a network of tight lines to base area, a small surface flake to side of jug, a partial in-the-firing ping to opposite side of jug, midsection, and minor crazing to base of spout. Other jug with cracks and tight lines throughout, an in-the-firing spout chip, and a small hole in reverse. Jar with significant cracks emanating from underside, in-the-firing flaws to surface, water glass residue to interior, a glazed-over rim chip, and a post-firing rim chip. H (of smallest) 9 7/8".
