Rare Tanware Figure of a Spaniel, Western PA origin, circa 1885, molded figure of a seated Cavalier King Charles spaniel, profusely-decorated with Albany slip spotting and highlights. Impressed and incised details to eyes and muzzle. A heavy piece with hollow interior and circular vent hole in underside, probably used as a doorstop. Highly-prized form. Excellent condition with a minor base chip. H 7 1/4".
