Rare Stoneware Canning Jar, Stamped "LEITZINGER, / Clearfield, Pa. / 1," circa 1851-1879, ovoid jar with flared "wax sealer" rim, salt-glazed exterior, and Albany-slip-glazed interior. Underside impressed with one of the maker's mark used by Swiss immigrant potter, Frederick Leitzinger, active in the town of Clearfield in Clearfield County, PA, circa 1851-1879. Very nice condition with small chips to interior of rim and inner rim for lid, as well as a small piece of adhered clay to side of jar. H 7 1/8".
