Four-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "M. WOODRUFF / CORTLAND," NY State origin, circa 1867-1869, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed stem bearing three brushed flowers with slip-trailed stamens. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. A 7" crack from rim on left side of crock's front. Heavy water glass staining to interior. Light water glass staining to exterior. A shallow 1 1/4" base chip on front. A minor in-the-firing lime ping near base on front. H 11 1/4".
