Exceptional Oval Redware Loaf Dish with Three-Color Slip Decoration, Norwalk, CT origin, possibly Hoyt Pottery, early 19th century, oval dish with coggled edge, the lead-glazed interior decorated with the intricate bands of copper and manganese stripes overlapped by wavy cream-colored trails, separated by two large, undulating trails of copper slip. Featuring a rare oval form and prolific use of copper slip, this dish ranks among the finest works that we have offered from the venerable Norwalk, CT school of slipware. Provenance: Skinner, Inc.
