Exceptional Glazed Redware Jug, NY State origin, mid 19th century, small-sized, semi-ovoid jug with tooled shoulder and tapered spout, its lead-glazed surface featuring cream-green coloration with dramatic red glaze crawling throughout. Outstanding color. Provenance: Ex-Skinner's, 2003; Ex-Christie's, 1983. Excellent condition with a small in-the-firing ping to reverse of spout, a tiny in-the-firing ping to shoulder, a minor base chip, and minor base nick. H 7 1/4".
