Rare Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Doll's Head, New Geneva, PA origin, circa 1880, molded in the form of a child's head with parted hair and incised eyes. Cobalt highlights to hair, eyes, and eyebrows. Delicately-brushed spotted necklace around neck. Albany-slip-glazed interior. Provenance: From a CA consignor, whose mother collected Western PA pottery decades ago. Losses to base, where the head would be attached to a cloth body. H 3 1/4".
