Half-Gallon Stoneware Pitcher with Cobalt Floral Decoration, attributed to the Remmey Pottery, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1865, ovoid pitcher with footed base and tooled collar, decorated around the body with a horizontal floral motif. Swag decoration to spout. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. A glazed-over chip to interior of spout. A chip to exterior of spout. A large, in-the-making chip at base, which was smoothed over and brushed with cobalt prior to firing. Small ink/crayon code notations on underside. H 9".
