Rare Multi-Glazed Redware Canister, attributed to S. Bell & Sons or J. Eberly & Co., Strasburg, VA, circa 1890, straight-sided form with flared, footed base, tapered shoulder, and semi-rounded rim, the surface dipped in cream-colored slip, decorated with splashes of copper and manganese, and covered in a clear lead glaze. Rare form. Chipped and worn areas around base. Wear to rim and recessed inner rim. Thin band of wear at edge of shoulder and some minor surface wear. H 5".
