Five-Gallon Double-Handled Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Decoration, Stenciled "HAMILTON & JONES / GREENSBORO, PA," circa 1875, ovoid jug with finely-turned spout and two applied handles at the shoulder, decorated with freehand vining, stripes, and flourishes along with Hamilton & Jones maker's stenciling surrounding a circular stenciled design. Brushed cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Network of thin lines/crazing throughout. Salt drips to reverse. H 19".
