Two-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Northeastern U.S. origin, probably NJ, circa 1880, cylindrical crock with semi-rounded rim and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a crested bird perched on a split stem with leaves. Slip-trailed "2" to shoulder. A 3/4" flake to interior of rim. Some in-the-firing mottling to clay on right side of crock. Faint marker inscription, "#95," on reverse. H 9 1/4".
