Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "F.B. NORTON & CO. / WORCESTER, MASS.," circa 1870, cylindrical jug with semi-rounded spout, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a crested bird perched on a stylized branch. Excellent color. Light cobalt accents to maker's mark and capacity mark. A small chip to side of spout. Some minor in-the-firing surface fissures to upper handle terminal. Some staining. H 13".
